ADYAN believes that all authentic prayers are heard, and that praying with others joins people together and strengthens their spiritual solidarity. Thus, the ADYAN Prayer Network spiritually joins people from different parts of the world and of different faiths that agree to pray, each in his/her own way, for shared intentions occasionally proposed by ADYAN.
Dear God, our hearts bleed each time we hear or think about what is happening to your children in Iraq, all of your children, Christian and Muslim, but especially those who are killed only because they belong to another religion than that of the perpetrators of crimes. At the same time we learn so much of Your love and forgiveness when we hear the testimonies of hope of those who have lost a parent, a child or an entire family in the latest murders. We pray for them O God, and we ask you to touch the hearts and minds of all those children who are brainwashed and end up committing the most horrible murders in Your Name. We ask you to stop their teachers and leaders from raising them on hatred and inhumanity. We ask you to look upon all your creatures in Iraq and anywhere in the world where people are being killed and persecuted in Your Name and protect them by transforming the hearts and minds of those who see You as an avenger and a segregator. We ask you to open them up to see You for who you are, the God of Love and Mercy. We also ask you to illuminate us and guide us so that we can know what we can do to stop all this carnage.
