Sustainable Reconciliation
Summary
Believing in the necessity of enhancing and strengthening the process of reconciliation within the Lebanese society, ADYAN launched a multibranches program named "Sustainable reconciliation".
The goal of this program is to improve social peace, and reinforce networks of relation and collaborative actions between Lebanese communities through a sustainable reconciliation process.
Such a process can contribute to diminish the fears and remedy to the wounds of the long years of war that Lebanese society has been through, leading to a mutual trust, a preventing new generation from conflicts.
Program's branches:
- "From war to reconciliation": Producing the short movie on Lebanese witnesses to repentance, forgiveness and peace, from previous militia leaders.
- "The imam and the pastor": coproducing, launching and disseminating the Arabic version of the film "The Imam and the Pastor", that presents the story of Pastor James and Imam Ashafa from Nigeria, co-witnesses to peace and reconciliation after having been opposing militia leaders in Nigeria.
- A Lebanese Think Tank on reconciliation (Prospective project)
Target population
All Lebanese and Arab population, starting age 16.
The 2 films are very pedagogically useful for NGOs and educational groups.
