International Consultation in Amman

“We are all minorities- a plea for pluralism”

 

An international consultation entitled : "We are all minorities- a plea for pluralism" (Challenges and chances of Religious, Ethnic-Cultural, and political diversification in contemporary societies - From Muslim, Christian and Jewish perspectives) took place in Amman between November 15 and 17, at the Royal Scientific Society. The consultation was organized by the European Abrahamic Forum (EAF) in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Federal Department of Foreign affairs in the Swiss Confederation, and the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies. 30 leading academicians and social workers from around the world were joined in this event. Fadi Daou, President of ADYAN, talked about the issue from the Lebanese perspective, under the title: "Deconstructing minorities, the Lebanese integration experience". The participants stressed the importance of having this kind of networking, exchange of ideas and debate on a regular basis. The EAF will publish the Proceedings and organize the follow-up of this meeting.
